Why is there so little activity on this area of the forum?

At this time of year Wirksworth is literally buzzing with artwork and creations of all kinds. I am wondering why there are not dozens of examples of such artwork on here? Not everybody is able to walk around the trails. Not everybody is inclined to do so. I find some of the artwork is not to my taste but I am intrigued to know the motivation behind creating it!

Is this not the perfect place to showcase the artwork and bring it to a wider audience? Those of us who actually post on the forum are few in number - I realise that - but whenever I am logged on there are many guests browsing the threads. Showcase has not been added to for ages. Seems a shame to me.

If I knew how, I'd post a photograph of what I created for tea just to get something on there! ;):D

If you wait a few minutes management will be along to show you how to post photographs. :D:D:D Only joking!!

You have to have them hosted on line somewhere such as Flickr, Youtube or various other options. That gives them a URL each i.e. an address. then when you post here you put the address in the box which appears when you click on the image icon above the reply box (looks like a postcard with a mountain) and it will magically appear in your post.
I've got mine hosted in my own web space so the address will look like this: http://www.owdman.co.uk/wirknet/13.9.08/shed.jpg but when inserted in the box it becomes this:
http://www.owdman.co.uk/wirknet/13.9.08/shed.jpg

It's a shed.
I haven't taken any of the festival as I've been otherwise engaged, but you are right - this board should be buzzing. I blame the laid-back invisible style of management. Wasted opportunity IMHO. Dead in the water.

cheers
Jacob
PS it could be a good idea for Wirksnet to host photos themselves, to make it easier all round.

Google do their own picture service:
http://picasa.google.co.uk/ (http://picasa.google.co.uk/intl/en/#utm_source=en-all-more&utm_campaign=en-pic&utm_medium=et)
I've never tried any of them myself as I host my own, but I know that plenty of people use them effectively

cheers
