:confused:Local Group Discussion - this is what the title says and yet all the messages here relate to the Film Society?

Are there no other groups in Wirksworth?;)

The problem with all the groups in the town is we're all beavering away to make things happen and sometimes we forget to shout about them enough...look at this weekend:

WIRKSWORTH

Saturday 7th March

Full day of events planned including the celebration of Wirksworth's new Fairtrade status

10am onwards: Outside Memorial Hall:Farmers' Market with DaleDiva singing at 10am
10-12 noon: Waltham House: Fairtrade coffee morning
Morning: Memorial Hall area: Sustainable Wirksworth will be giving out energy meters to 10 local residents
Lunchtime: Le Mistral: Fairtrade Fortnight lunch at £8.95
1pm:Community Park:Launch of Urban Art
2pm:Town Centre: Unveiling of Fairtrade sign
2.15pm:Outside Town Hall: BM&W Brass Band
3pm: Town Hall: Fairtrade celebration cake and "The journey so far"
8pm:Town Hall: Fairtrade celebration party with dancing and entertainment including the Wam Bam Band

Yes, I've seen the list of groups on wirksworth.net, but why don't they join in the discussion on the forum? For instance, I'd like to know more about Sustainable Wirksworth....what do they do? And what has happened to Wirksworth in Bloom? And then there are the Carnival, Well Dressings, Festival.
I see there is a Comedy Evening tomorrow night at the Red Lion. Is this a re-start of the Comedy Club? Let's hear from you all!

NOW sends its hearty congratulations to the Fairtrade Group and wishes it all the very best for the celebrations on Saturday.

NOW also reminds everyone about the launch of the Urban Art project at the Community Park on Saturday at 1.0 pm.

NOW announces the launch of the Urban Art project at the Community Park on Saturday 7 March has been postponed! Sorry to disappoint....but watch out for further information.

There is still the Farmers' Market to visit in the morning....!!
