May's film will be the last of the season. Screened at the Town Hall at 7.30, the choice is a French film, The Chorus (Les Choristes). Made in 2004, it is a drama directed by Chrisophe Barratier and a remake of the 1945 film, A Cage of Nightingales.

The film explores the pain of a child's separation from his parents and the transcendence of music as the greatest form of expression.

Bar opens at 7.0 pm. Non-members £4. All welcome!:)

Although the last of the season, there will be a couple more films shown during Wirksworth Festival. Watch out for details!

If this is the last film of the season does this mean Wirksworth Film will be planning a new one? If so, are they open to suggestions?

I've not seen the film, but I've heard from a reliable source that the Spanish film, Like Water for Chocolate is good. And I wanted to say that I thought The Chorus was a super film...very moving.

I'm hoping to see Paris 36 this evening, with the same actor as in The Chorus starring in it. If I think it is worth recommending, I will do so.

Definitely worth recommending - like The Chorus it would be an ideal choice to end next seasons' films.
