EXPERIENCES FROM INTERVIEWERS (for help and discussion)
John Windsor reports "First, I forgot to take drop-in shots of hands, etc. If the interviews are used I think I shall have to go back and get some. Although the subjects sensed that a connected narrative was called for, the best material from both of them is in two or three different sections, prompted by my requests for clarification. As a print journalist, I'm impressed by the difficulty in getting short, uninterrupted takes that tell the whole story. Since the interviewees stay in the same position the whole time I think this might make editing difficult without drop-in shots. I've seen edited TV interviews where the shot angle stays virtually the same and different bits are spliced together with fades, but it looks a bit unnatural. Worth discussing, perhaps".
